Offline first, and synced only if you ask

Every punch is written to your own phone the moment you tap. The network is an optional extra layered on top of a record that already exists, which is the difference between a tracker you can rely on and one that depends on signal.

What works with no connection

All of it. Not the timer alone — the editing, the totals and the exports too, because the data was never anywhere else.

  • Punching in and out, on any project.
  • Adding, editing and deleting sessions.
  • Period totals and earnings for any range.
  • CSV and PDF export, saved straight to the phone.
  • Every setting, including the themes and the notification options.

Why that matters more than it sounds

The moments when tracking is hardest to reconstruct afterwards are disproportionately the moments with no signal: a flight, a basement, a client site out of town, a train through a tunnel. A tracker that needs a round trip to start a timer fails exactly then, and the hours it loses are the ones you are least able to remember.

Writing locally first also means the app never blocks on the network. A punch is instant because it is a write to the device, not a request to a server.

What sync is for, and what it is not

Sync exists for one reason: getting the same projects and sessions onto a second device. It is not where your data lives, it is not required to use anything, and it is off until you switch it on.

Turning it on takes two steps, deliberately: sign in with Apple or Google, then enable the sync toggle in Settings. Enabling the toggle while signed out does nothing except tell you that it needs an account. From then on, changes are pushed up in the background — the app never waits on them, so a bad connection slows nothing down.

  • Off by default. A fresh install syncs nothing, ever, until you ask it to.
  • Sign-in is Apple or Google; Apple Sign-In on iPhone, Google on both.
  • Data is stored per account in Cloud Firestore and is reachable only by that account.
  • Turn it off and everything you have tracked is still on the phone, exactly as before.

What is never collected

There is no advertising, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracking in the app. If you never turn sync on, nothing you track leaves the device at all.

  • No ads and no ad networks.
  • No usage analytics or behavioural tracking.
  • No location data, and no device identifiers for tracking.
  • No access to your contacts, your calendar or your other apps.

And how to remove it

Settings has a Delete Account action for the cloud copy, and deleting a project or the app itself removes what is on the phone. The two are separate on purpose: signing out of the cloud should not wipe the hours you tracked on your own device.

Questions about accounts and sync

Do I need an account to use it?

No. The app works fully with no sign-in at all, and everything you track is stored on your own device. Signing in with Apple or Google exists for one reason: cloud sync, so your projects and sessions reach your other devices. Sync is off by default.

I turned sync on and nothing synced.

Sync needs you signed in — if you switch it on while signed out the app will say so rather than turning it on. Check that you are signed in with Apple or Google in Settings, that the toggle is actually on, and that the phone has a connection. Nothing is lost while it waits: the data is on the device either way.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and tap Delete Account, then confirm. That removes your account and the copy of your data held in the cloud. What is already on your phone stays on your phone — delete a project, or the app itself, to remove that too.

Try it in aeroplane mode.

It is the fastest way to find out whether a tracker actually works offline or only claims to.

Free. No subscription, no ads, and no account unless you want sync.
